With the weather getting warmer everyday it's time to EXPLORE! Our area is lucky to have some great parks and playgrounds for kids (although an indoor one would be a nice addition!). My kids have swung, spun, and raced through many of them ... and definitely have their favorites!
Here’s a list of our family’s top five favorite parks and playgrounds and the reasons we love them:
Memorial Park
Location: 200 N. Park Street, Woodland Park, CO
Features:
- Gazebo
- Pavilion
- Performance Shelter
- Pond with Fishing Dock
- Interactive Lazy River
- Playground Equipment
- Basketball Court
- 4 Picnic Tables with Shelter
- Concrete Pathway that Winds through Park
- Restrooms
What kids love: Playground & Pond
What I love:- The view of Pikes Peak
Gazebo Lake Park
Location:100 Lake Street, Green Mountain Falls, CO 80819
Features:
- Gazebo
- Pavilion
- Pond
- Playground Equipment
- Sandbox
- Picnic Tables
- Port-a-Potty
- Creek
What kids love: Eating breakfast or lunch at the Pantry then playing at the playground
What I love: Siting on the benches and watching the ducks in the pond
Gateway Park
Location: Gateway Elementary, 211 S Baldwin St, Woodland Park, CO 80863
Open to the public after 4:00pm weekdays during the school year. Weekends and Summer 7 am - 10 pm

- Ramps & tire ladders
- Climbing Structures
- Bridges
- Playground Equipment
- Sandbox
What kids love: All the climbing structures
What I love: Talking with the other parents while the kids play
Mountain View Adventure Park
Location: 510 Co Rd 89, Cripple Creek, CO 80813
Open 7 am - 7 pm
Features:
- Playground with slide, mini zip line, swings, etc
- Disc Golf Course rent equipment from C.C. Parks and Rec $10 deposit or bring your own
- Hiking Biking Trail - 2.5 or 5 kilometers
- BMX Track
What kids love: All the outdoor fun options
What I love: Visiting the Burros in the winter, hiking and watching all the great BMX people ride
Hayden Divide Park
Location: 34 Hybrook Rd S, Divide, CO 80814
Open 7 am - 7 pm
Features:
- Playground with slides
- Sand to play in
- Hiking Trail
- Port-a-potty but questionable
What kids love: Playing with their Divide friends
What I love: Solitude and Pikes Peak views and an automatic add because it is the only public playground in Divide...
The other Parks that are worth a visit are:
MEADOW WOOD SPORTS COMPLEX: 2000 Evergreen Heights Drive.This 43.83-acre park serves as the primary sports complex for the community. Facilities include one synthetic turf baseball field, two regulation size synthetic turf soccer fields, three lighted natural turf ball fields, playground equipment, concession stand, ice/inlines skating rink, four lighted tennis/pickleball courts, and a fitness trail.
CRESTWOOD PARK: 2010 Valley View Drive. This 4.33-acre park includes playground equipment, half-court basketball, gazebo, picnic tables, and a fitness trail with fitness equipment.
CAVALIER PARK: 522 Woodland Ave. This 1.5-acre park includes a playground, basketball court, picnic tables, and asphalt pathway.
RED MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE PARK: 1015 Evergreen Heights Dr. This 3.32-acre park provides fun for everyone! Skaters and BMX riders will enjoy the 8,500 square-foot concrete skate park and dirt BMX course. Younger siblings can play at the playground while parents watch both activities from the covered picnic shelter.
